Accommodation Monte Sant' Angelo

Narrow passages, streets that are virtually stairways, and little houses washed a gleaming white characterise Monte Sant' Angelo.

The accommodation is within one of our three quaint whitewashed dwellings in the Medieval Junno district which contain all the architectural characteristics of an area brimming with history.

We can offer you a larger apartment that sleeps 4 or two smaller bedits that sleep 2, all are rented to you inclusive of all bills. All apartments are rented at the same price, however we are flexible both with our prices if on a budget and our dates, particularly off season. Your accommodation has been renovated in traditional style, but contains necessary modern additions such as central heating, shower, washing machine, gas cooker, TV, DVD etc.

The apartments are located 5 mins. walk from the town centre, the Basilica and Castle, two have balconies and all have fantastic mountaintop views of the sea. Monte Sant' Angelo is a place of pilgrimage for Catholics from all over Italy. The town is unspoiled and things have not changed here too much over the centuries. The nearby national park with its dense forests offer beautiful walks in an area famous for orchids, mushrooms as well as deer. The bustling Saturday market is a must for local produce: ham, cheese, wine, honey and herbs.

The accommodation is self-catering, therefore you will need to purchase your vegetables at the greengrocers or the Saturday market, bread is bought at the bakers and meat at the butchers. When you eat out, each restaurant is unique with its own flavours and charm - no chains here! Because they don't get lots of foreign visitors in Monte Sant' Angelo you will be treated by locals with the courtesy of a valued guest. If you love Italian food, you will not find better!

During August and the Summer months there is folk dancing, parades, children's entertainment and an outdoor cinema in the town square, but this is a place that can be visited all year round. Every night after dinner the town centre is thronging with residents out on their passeggiata. Sit at the bar under the trees, relax and watch life in Italy, unchanged for decades.

The climate is good. It is a 20 minute drive from Monte Sant' Angelo to the nearest beach, during the summer it can be a relief returning to the cooler air of the mountain after a day on the beach or a walk in the Foresta Umbra.

For your peace of mind we have local contacts who will assist you if you experience any problems.
